When Hydrogen Peroxide comes into contact with silver oxide it produces
pure Oxygen and a by product of pure soft water. The Hydrogen peroxide is prevented from direct contact with the
shipping bag water because of the pressure of oxygen being vented through
the oxygen outlet tube. As the reaction goes forward the hydrogen peroxide
is converted to water and remains in the
test tube, while the generated oxygen is vented to the bag containing the
The oxygen release tube is very small. like a large pin
hole use the smallest tubing possible. I use a tube about half the
diameter of a knitting needle. When the unit is dropped into the bag, the
unit will float bottom down if weighted properly on the bottom. The oxygen
is then released slowly into the bag.
When building the unit make sure that the bottom of the
release tube is well above the liquid level in the test tube.
